District Cross-Country competition - 18th March 2011

On Friday 18th March, ten boys and nine girls went to South Weald Park to run in the District Cross-Country Competition.  Despite the wet weather and very muddy conditions, they were all keen and excited to run.  They had given up their time to train in Weald Park on the previous four Sunday afternoons, so were familiar with the course.

The girls ran first.  There were about 200 runners in the race.  Our best three positions were:

  • Ines Mason in 47th place,
  • Sophie Cleveland in 77th place, and
  • Helena Mollard in 82nd place.

The boys ran second.  Again there were about 200 runners in the race.  Our best three positions were:

  • Matthew Bell in 26th place,
  • Jack Salter in 32nd place, and
  • Abishai Tharmaraj in 102nd place.

The boys team came in 3rd place overall.

Well done with everyone who ran, especially in the difficult weather conditions and over a longer and more challenging course than in previous years.
