Harvest Crafts by Form 6. October 2008

 

During the afternoon of Thursday 2nd October, Form 6 were visited by Steve, a member of the education team at Wat Tyler Country Park.  He came to tell us all about Corn Dollies and to show us how to make them.  We learnt a lot of interesting information about the history of Corn Dollies and we learnt how to make 'The Knot' and 'The Heart'.  Our Corn Dollies were used to decorate the hall for our Harvest Festival Assembly on Wednesday 15th October, and then we took them home.  We thoroughly enjoyed our Harvest craft afternoon and were very proud of our finished Corn Dollies.
